The Prompt That Finds Your
Competitive Edge in Under Five Minutes

How to use one AI prompt to surface the content gaps, positioning opportunities, and audience frustrations your competitors have no idea they're sitting on.

Most founders spend hours doing competitive research the manual way: scrolling competitor profiles, reading comment sections, trying to piece together what's working. It's slow, it's incomplete, and the most important signals get missed.

One well-constructed prompt changes that. Give your AI a clear research assignment and it returns a positioning brief covering four dimensions that most founders never examine together at the same time.

Before you start, here's what you'll need

The setup.

Step 01Define your niche precisely before you run the prompt

The quality of the output depends entirely on the specificity of your niche input. "Women founders" is too broad. "Women founders running service-based businesses who want to integrate AI systems without losing their authentic voice" gives the AI something to work with. Write your niche definition before you open your AI tool.

Step 02Run the prompt

Copy and paste this into your AI, replacing the placeholder with your niche definition:

"Analyze my niche: [your niche]. Identify content opportunities, positioning gaps, audience frustrations, and underutilized strategies that most competitors are ignoring so I can stand out more effectively."

Step 03Save the output as your positioning brief

Copy the full output into a working doc and label it as your positioning brief for this quarter. Every content decision you make for the next 90 days should connect back to at least one finding in this document.

Step 04Pull three content angles from the gaps

Go through the output and identify the three positioning gaps or audience frustrations that resonate most with where you want to go. Those become your content pillars for the next 30 days. Be selective: you want the three you can speak to most credibly and specifically.

Step 05Schedule a quarterly re-run

Niches shift. Audiences evolve. Re-run this prompt every 90 days and update your positioning brief accordingly. Your competitive intelligence stays current without requiring hours of manual research every quarter.

That's it.

A positioning brief used to require a consultant or a full day of manual research. When it's built into a repeatable system, competitive intelligence becomes something you run on demand. If you want this wired into a full content strategy system, that's what the Content Engine™ is built for.
